Welcome to the Short Reach Optical Interconnect (SROI) workstream, formed under the Future Technologies Initiative


The SROI mission is to guide the industry on how short-reach optics can improve processor to processor and processor to memory bandwidth, by clearly defining the requirements and metrics for optical compute I/O for the OCP community. For more about the SROI FTI workstream, please read this blog about the latest white paper contribution.

Scope

Define requirements and metrics for optical I/O:

  • Define the applications and use cases
  • Find out the benchmark for each case
  • Document key issues that must be resolved

Encourage technical innovations:

  • Define the parameters

Produce OCP requirements document
